The Arabian Court at the One and Only Royal Mirage is certainly one of Dubai's top hotels. The Arabian Court is slightly newer than the Palace and is slightly better, hence the price differential.
We dined at the Eauzone restaurant in the evening, which was a great setting adjacent to the pool and the food was excellent.
The hotel is of a similar standard and price to Madinat Jumeirah, however I would say that this hotel is more suited to understated elegance and romantic couples, whereas the Madinat is more glamourous and has a wider range of facilities and things to do.
The beach is perfect sand and the sea is very calm, due to Palm Island creating a lagoon effect in the sea. The views from the beach are straight on to Palm Island, which in my opinion are interesting, although some may not be keen on seeing any of the construction going on for the next couple of years.

Tips
Don't miss the great food and setting of Eauzone.
The Kazbar nightclub is one of the best and classiest in Dubai. Thursday nights are busiest.
The rooftop bar is great to sit out, with views over Palm Jumeirah.
Nina's Indian restaurant serves really fine dining Indian cuisine.
