Royal but not intimidating - Simon

We found that although the atmosphere there was almost royal but it was also friendly and intimate. Not at all oppressive which was great because I like to feel relaxed on holiday. For all the oppulence it had a simplistic feel. I think it was one of the original hotels in Dubai so was more established.
I was getting stressed before I went about the view but at the end of the day it's amazingly hot out there so you are unlikely to have the curtains open and be sitting out on the balcony looking out at it.
I loved the hotel overall and cannot fault many things about it.
I wouldn't hesitate to take the rest of the family next time as it would be fine for children.
