We stayed in a Spa beachfront villa which included private ‘outdoor’ spa and private outdoor Jacuzzi, swimming pool and garden area complete with sun beds.
This was fantastic, more money obviously, but worth it for the privacy and luxury!
Facilities at this hotel were very good. Internet access offered free of charge. Guests on Half Board can use any of the 3 restaurants. (we did and they were great!)
Other facilities (from memory!) included: gymnasium, main spa with ‘Banyan Tree’ branded products. Main bar open til midnight.
Tennis court and think I saw a conference room. Helipad nearing entrance to resort (would have liked to have seen a film star arrive but never mind!)
Location: South of Mahe. Spectacular beach although sea more rough here. Built on rim of protected, natural area which in turn offers lush green, tropical backdrop in very peaceful location. Even turtles have chosen this beach to lay their eggs!
Resort is located in a protected, natural reserve thus long driveway to gain access to central part of resort. Main building is of colonial style ...lots of character. Golf buggies used to get around due to expansive grounds. Villas are well positioned, maximising benefits of beachfront or hillside locations.
Banyan Tree offered the right blend of 5 star luxuries mixed with superior service, warmth and character. A gorgeous location and one which would suit all guests, families included.
