I haven't rated the 'Beach' as this bit isn't applicable - this hotel is literally slap bang in the middle of the desert. When you drive through the doors its still around 10 minutes before you reach the property! This is just an amazing place to stay, like nowhere I've ever been before. Its extremely Arabic in its feel, a really cultural treat. My friend who travlled with me said it felt like we on the set of Star Wars - it was visually stunning and there was this amazing smell, like the aroma of scented candles - that gave the place its own distinctive style. When we arrived into our room there was an easel waiting for us plus binoculars looking out to the desert. This was great as I do like to draw and it was just a relaxing, peaceful setting to be able to do that. we had our own private infinity pool which was just superb, and we did actually use the communal pool on site as well.
The resort itself is really well looked after, little trickling waterfalls everywhere and clean, everywhere so clean and tidy.
The hotel ran one activity per day which was complimentary - we took advantage of this on two days and went a nature trail walk and a had a falconry experience another day. These were great and gave us the nice diverse break we were seeking. We didnt want somewhere too bustling and we were not overly attracted by going into dubai itself, although we could have if we'd have wanted to. Our personal butler was on hand and was keen to arrange things for us which he did - this was a really good way to plan our holiday as he was very obliging, polite and knowledgable.
We would definitely go back here - it was fantastic. I'd give it high nineties out of 100 - neither of us are really into beaches so this was perfect for us!
